Privacy Policy

The short version

HomeOne is built local-first. Your home's data — devices, dashboards, profiles, automations, alarms, activity — lives on your own HomeOne Hub, in your home. There are no HomeOne accounts, no cloud storage of your home data, no analytics SDKs, and no advertising or tracking of any kind. We don't sell data — we never see it in the first place.

What the app stores on your device

• Pairing credentials — the token and pairing code used to talk to your hub are stored in the iOS Keychain on your device. They authenticate your device to your hub over your home network and are removed when you forget the hub.
• Preferences — things like your hub's address on your network and which profile a device shows are stored locally on the device and/or on your hub.

Device permissions the app asks for

• Camera — only to scan the QR pairing code printed on your hub. No photos or video are recorded, stored, or transmitted.
• Local network — to discover your hub and control your devices over your own Wi-Fi. All control traffic stays on your home network.

What stays on your hub

Your device list, rooms, scenes, routines, automations, dashboards, profiles, alarms, activity history, spoken announcements, and any names you set are stored on the HomeOne Hub hardware in your home. If you set your home's location on the hub, it is used locally for things like sunrise and sunset automations. Backups you create are stored on the hub and downloaded directly to your device — never to us.

When something does leave your home

• Software updates — your hub periodically checks our update server (updates.homeone.ai) for new HomeOne software. This is a standard web request; like any web server, ours sees basic connection metadata (such as your IP address) in order to serve it. We don't use it to identify you and we don't attach it to your home's data.
• Weather — if your hub shows weather, it queries a weather service using your home's coordinates, from the hub.
• Optional premium voice — if you choose to enable the premium voice and provide your own ElevenLabs API key, the text of announcements is sent to ElevenLabs to be turned into speech, under their terms. The built-in voice runs entirely on the hub, offline.
• Third-party integrations — devices and services you pair (for example Philips Hue, Sonos, a TV platform) may communicate with their own manufacturers' services under those manufacturers' privacy policies. HomeOne talks to them from inside your network.

Demo mode

The app's "demo home" runs entirely inside the app with simulated data. It makes no network connections and collects nothing.

TestFlight and the App Store

If you install HomeOne through TestFlight or the App Store, Apple may share crash logs and feedback you choose to submit with us, governed by Apple's terms and your device settings. We use them only to fix problems.

Children

HomeOne's kids profiles and parental controls are configured and controlled by the home's administrator. The app does not collect personal information from children — or anyone else — for us.
